Martin Dusinberre
Hi everyone, I'm nominally running this class but we all know that in the new world it's the IT people who control everything (they may even be writing this profile, for all you know).
I basically got interested in digital history when I first came to UZH in February 2015, because I realized that I wouldn't be able to survive here for the next twenty years without knowing more about it. And if you follow some of what we'll be doing on this course, you'll see that my default position is somewhat sceptical; hopefully you can counterbalance this, as I'm sure Danny will.
My own particular interest is in digital narration, which is why we'll be talking a bit during the course about the game I've been developing with a team here at UZH and beyond, and also why we'll be encouraging you to present your work in ways that go beyond the traditional Seminararbeit.
Everything Danny says about his German is the same for me, with a factor of ten. But I can (I think) sing in Japanese better than he does. Although we will really be scraping the barrel if it comes to that during the next fourteen weeks.
