Hi @daniel.mcdonald I wasn't able to attend this week, as I was still doing research in Vancouver, but will be there next week. Any chance I could I get access to the homework for next week please?

Welcome, Manuel. I've created a label for such issues, which we should all use if we are absent from class--it will give us a quick indication that something has come up related to absence.
@all Unfortunately we're going to have to postpone tomorrow's class: due to my return from Italy last Sunday (23rd), I've been asked to work from home for the rest of this week. Just to reassure you: I'm perfectly well and it was all within the official guidelines for me to work at uni last week, but as of this week the UZH guidelines have changed. @daniel.mcdonald and I will be posting some online assignments for you to do in the meantime, and then we'll postpone tomorrow's planned class to 10 March (which will be more than two weeks after I returned from Italy). More shortly (this "working from home" now requires me to attend to my kids' lunch), but just wanted to give you all an update first. With apologies, Martin
Very unfortunate news. If anyone would like to meet tomorrow in an informal way and discuss things or ask questions, I will be around. Just let me know.
@manuel.kissoczy@ricardo.stalder@maryam.joseph@patrick.gut As one of the assignments Danny and I would like to set in lieu of class tomorrow, I have opened individual project issues for you all, modelled on the one that Henrik opened last week. We think it's good practice for you to start articulating potential project ideas even if you think they are MEH, namely: (i) Mad (ii) Excremental (iii) Hopeless, or a combination of (i) (ii) and (iii). You can be sure that we will point out if they are indeed , but we may also help you find better articulations of your ideas. And it's never too early to start. So, this I've asked you all to write an initial idea down by next Monday, although we hope also to use the Lives in Transit session next week to inspire you with one potential way to present your research.
@anne-christinekatharina.schindler I'm not sure if you'll be taking the course, but if you are, please open such an issue and self-assign.
Once you've all commented on Lives in Transit, I'll also add a second task to that Issue, which we would have discussed tomorrow but can instead address next week.
@manuel.kissoczy@henrik.jochum@maryam.joseph@ricardo.stalder@patrick.gut I hope you're all well. You'll by now be aware that face-to-face classes have been cancelled at UZH for the foreseeable future. Luckily, given the digital infrastructure of this course, this may affect us less than other Lehrveranstaltungen, but it's still inconvenient for you and I'm sorry about that. I'll talk with @daniel.mcdonald and @leyla.feiner about what video possibilities there may be, but for the time being please be online on Tuesday at the normal time; and hopefully I can also give you an update on Monday about how we'll run the discussion on Seshat. Have a good weekend in the meantime and stay well, Martin
