Hi everyone, my name is Ricardo, and I live in Zürich Oerlikon. (Naturally) I major in history of the contemporary world while German literature is my minor. During my Bachelor's degree, I also took courses in philosophy. At the moment I am interested in the history of psychoanalysis in the second half of the 20th century and the coming about of the French New Right.
For some time now, I have been doing some work in what one might call the Digital Humanities, as pointed out by Patrick. My main concern is developing a methodology that combines statistical evaluation and literary interpretation. Since I am working on medieval texts, my particular interest for this course would be learning how to use GitLab in order to transcribe texts and creating digital editions.
However, this does not mean that I am any less interested in discussing the possibilities and problems of digital history. I think that theoretical and methodological consequences resulting from the interaction of writing history using digital tools need to be addressed critically.
Finally, I would like to get familiar with basic skills such as Markdown and being able to organize a collaborative project on GitLab for future purposes.
